Frequently Asked Questions
Branding Services
-
Our essentials brand package includes all the brand essentials your business needs: 3 logo variations (primary, secondary, icon mark), typography system, and custom color palette. We also provide a mockup to present your identity on an asset that's applicable to your business.
For additional brand assets like pattern design, icon design, illustration, and more, be sure to mention it to our team before they share a custom proposal to tailor our service to be exactly what you need.
-
No problem. In our project discovery, we assess your brand's current state, including your logo. If it's still working well, we can build the brand around it. This approach can be just as involved as starting fresh, since it comes with its own design considerations.
During discovery, we often present two mood board directions: one that works with your existing logo and one that explores what a refreshed version might look like.
-
We’ll have you fill out our brand questionnaire and share examples of brands you love, along with a note on what resonates with you. This helps our design team understand your vision and assess what makes strategic sense for your brand.
The questionnaire covers things like your competitors, the meaning behind your business name, and adjectives that describe your brand. Depending on how much you’ve already thought through, it might be a quick and easy exercise or a chance to dive deeper and clarify your brand foundations before we begin.
-
You’ll be an essential thought partner, especially early on, but we make it easy and efficient. We provide clear daily milestones so you always know what to expect and where we are in the process.
Each day of our work together, you’ll receive an end-of-day update by 5pm PST with a video walkthrough. Most clients spend 30 minutes to an hour each day reviewing and providing feedback
Before we begin, we’ll ask for 1 to 2 hours of your time to complete our brand questionnaire. That helps us hit the ground running with clarity.
-
Typically we book 1-2 months out. This can be seasonal and occasionally we are able to book by the following week. Reach out to get an update on our current availability!

Website Design
-
The scope depends on your business and goals. Our most common Squarespace package for service-based businesses includes up to four fully designed and built pages: typically Home, About, Contact, and Services or Products.
For ecommerce businesses, we also design and build Shopify sites with up to five core pages or page templates, typically Home, About, Shop All, Collection, and Product.
Every website is designed for desktop and mobile, with a consistent brand experience, clear navigation, and thoughtful paths from first impression to action. The result is a site that looks like you, works for your customers, and supports your business goals.
For additional brand assets like pattern design, icon design, illustration, and more, be sure to mention it to our team before they share a custom proposal to tailor our service to be exactly what you need.
-
We pride ourselves on efficiency without compromising quality, and we’re faster than most industry timelines. A single landing page with established branding can take just one day or half week. Our Website Intensives for Squarespace sites typically take 1–2 weeks depending on size, while Shopify sites take about 3 weeks. If you have a specific launch date in mind, we’ll work with you to create a schedule that aligns.
-
We primarily design and build in Squarespace and use Shopify for ecommerce projects. Both are industry-leading platforms that make it easy to manage your site after launch, so you can update content, add products, and make everyday changes without ongoing support from a developer or design agency.
If you have an in-house developer building on another platform, we can also provide design only.
-
We can redesign your existing site with a new look and improved functionality while keeping your current content in place. This can be a great option if your platform works well but your design or brand has evolved. However, we often find that when businesses are ready for a visual update, they’re also considering new copy, imagery, or even a different platform. We’re always happy to review the current state of your site and recommend the best path forward based on your specific goals.
-
You can provide your own final copy and images, or add copywriting to your project. We recommend our copywriting service to help communicate what you offer clearly and keep your voice consistent across the site. Copywriting is scoped separately and isn’t included by default.
We also recommend brand or product photography for images that feel specific to your business, and we’re happy to connect you with trusted photographers. If you’re providing your own content, we can share guides to help you prepare it before website design begins.
-
Yes. We build in Squarespace and Shopify so you can manage everyday updates—like editing text, swapping images, and adding products—without code or ongoing help from a developer or design agency.
At the end of your project, you’ll receive a custom walkthrough video showing you how to make updates and manage your site after launch.
-
Yes. We offer design-only services, creating detailed wireframes for both desktop and mobile that show your website’s layout, content, and visual design. Your developer can then use these designs to build the site on the platform of your choosing.
-
We offer full brand identity design, including logo creation, color palettes, typography, and supporting brand assets. If you’d like to pair branding with your website project, we can bundle the two for a cohesive look and feel from day one. These assets need to be finalized before we begin website design so your site is built with a consistent visual foundation.

-
We include foundational SEO in every website build, focusing on the visual side—making sure your site’s design is mobile-friendly, loads quickly, and follows contrast best practices when we provide color palette direction. We also share a tutorial on best practices for setting up your site’s SEO for success, including how to properly name and tag images, set up image alt text, and maintain these optimizations as your site grows.
If you’re working with one of our content strategy partners, they can bring even more expertise to your SEO efforts. And if you’d like to invest in SEO strategically before your website build, we can recommend vendors who specialize in this. SEO is a long-game strategy, so it will take time to see measurable results.
-
We build websites you can confidently manage yourself, but we’re here if you need support after launch. Send us the updates you have in mind, and we’ll confirm the scope, cost, and timing before scheduling the work.
Packaging Design
-
We’ll need your brand files and guidelines, packaging dielines from your manufacturer, and final product copy for each product or variation. Dielines are the templates that show the dimensions, folds, and cut lines for your packaging.
It also helps to know where your products will be sold, your target price point, and any production deadlines. If you need branding or product copywriting support, we can scope that into your project before packaging design begins.
-
We can still get started on branding. The packaging mockup included in our brand package can help you communicate your vision to potential suppliers and show them what you’re looking for.
For projects that need more development, we also offer packaging strategy and design ahead of receiving dielines. This can include planning how your product varieties work together, creating unique artwork, and developing the front-of-pack design—your most impactful brand moment on shelf.
Once your supplier provides the final dielines, we can adapt the approved design to the packaging, complete the back-of-pack layout, and prepare print-ready files.
While we don’t offer supplier sourcing as a service, we’re always happy to share thoughts and ideas that come up through our work together. If we know of a supplier or connection from another client project that could be a good fit, we’ll gladly pass it along.
-
Each project is scoped around your products and packaging needs. Depending on the scope, this can include:
Packaging strategy across product types, sizes, flavors, or scents
Custom packaging design concepts, including front- and back-of-pack layouts
Color strategy to keep your range cohesive and help customers distinguish between products
Clear typography, information hierarchy, and product callouts
Custom illustrations, icons, or patterns, including unique artwork for individual products
Digital mockups to help you visualize the packaging
Product label copywriting
Revisions based on your feedback
Design adaptations across the agreed product variations and sizes
Print-ready files prepared to your manufacturer’s specifications, including Pantone color references where needed
Your proposal will outline the deliverables, design concepts, and revision rounds included.
-
Yes. We offer brand identity design, including logos, color palettes, typography, and supporting visual elements. Branding is scoped separately from packaging, but we can include both in one proposal.
If your brand identity isn’t established yet, we recommend starting there so your packaging has a clear, consistent foundation.
-
We recommend establishing a brand foundation first, even if you’re launching with a single product. Your label needs a logo, colors, typography, and a clear visual direction to bring it together. It also has it's own set of brand strategy requirements we need to build off of from that foundation. Without those decisions in place, the packaging project becomes a branding project too.
That doesn’t mean you need an extensive brand system before launching. We can recommend a scope that gives you the essentials for your first label and a consistent foundation to build on as your business grows.
-
Timing depends on the packaging format, number of product variations, and complexity of the design. Smaller projects can take as little as one week, while larger projects may take three to four weeks or longer.
We’ll confirm your schedule before starting. These estimates cover design; manufacturer sampling and production follow a separate timeline. Having your dielines, final copy, and feedback ready helps keep the project on track.
-
Yes. We can extend your packaging design across different products, flavors, sizes, or other variations, keeping the range consistent while making each product easy to identify.
Let us know which variations you need so we can include them in your scope. If you’re launching with one product, we can add more as your range grows.
-
Yes. We can refresh your current packaging or develop a new direction. We’ll start by looking at what’s working, what needs to change, and how the packaging fits your brand and product range.
That might mean making product information easier to read, helping shoppers distinguish between variations, or bringing the packaging in line with an updated brand identity.
-
As part of our brand work together, we love offering our perspective on packaging you’re considering. You’re welcome to share samples or links, and we can discuss how the options align with the brand we’re developing and could work across your product range.
While we don’t offer packaging sourcing as a service, we’re happy to share relevant supplier connections from past projects. Your supplier or manufacturer will need to confirm material suitability, costs, and production requirements.
If you need more involved collaboration with your manufacturer, we can include that in your project scope.
Other
-
We start with a conversation about your business, what you need, and what you’re working toward. From there, we put together a proposal outlining the scope, timeline, and investment.
Once your project is booked, we gather the materials we need and move through strategy and design, with opportunities for your feedback along the way. You’ll always know when to expect an update from our team and when we need your feedback to keep the project on track.
After final approval and payment, we prepare your files for handoff, along with any guidance included in your project.
-
Reach out as soon as you have a project or launch date in mind. Availability varies, and booking early gives us time to plan for both the design work and any next steps, like website development, packaging samples, or production.
If you’re working toward a specific deadline, include it in your inquiry so we can confirm what’s possible.
-
Absolutely. We love continuing to work with clients as their businesses grow. Whether you need new packaging, website updates, or marketing materials, send us what you have in mind and we’ll recommend the best way to tackle it.
For a list of needs, a Design Day is often a great fit. Smaller updates may be handled hourly, while larger projects are scoped separately. We also offer retainers for companies with marketing teams that need ongoing support.
-
We offer hourly support for smaller projects with existing clients. For a list of updates or design needs, we typically recommend our Design Day service so we can work through them together in one dedicated day.
-
Yes. We offer retainers for companies with marketing teams that need ongoing design support.
For smaller businesses, we usually recommend booking a Design Day each month to batch packaging, website, and graphic design needs into one session. It’s a straightforward way to plan regular support, keep work organized, and get more value from your design time.
-
Yes, we require a 50% deposit to begin work, with the remaining balance due upon project completion. Flexible payment plans may also be available.
